Word Play Therapy
There are times in life when disappointments and frustrations can make it feel like growth is impossible. I help people reframe difficult or traumatic life events by using humor, metaphor, and wordplay in sessions to make new meaning of life experiences. I also focus on instilling hope that your future will be better. Most of all, I want to help you move towards all of the possibilities that life has to offer.
How Will Word Play Therapy Help You Grow and Change?
My name is Liz Witmer and I created Word Play Therapy. Word Play Therapy is my private practice located in Leesburg, Virginia (NOVA). I focus on helping clients overcome their history of traumatic experiences and create a new narrative for their life story that helps them to thrive. When we meet, I will focus first and foremost on developing our therapy relationship. Our field knows that clients get the results they want when they are in a trusting therapy relationship.
Some of the most meaningful results we will seek include:
- experiencing more happiness
- having deeper relationships
- coping better with stress and anxiety
- believing that you can solve your own problems
- making better decisions
- appreciating one’s life and being excited about the future.
What Else Can You Look Forward To Accomplishing in Therapy?
Our first few therapy sessions will involve discussing important elements of your history. This will help us identify the lenses through which you see the world. Next, we will work together to find effective strategies to manage your overwhelming feelings. We will also practice new ways to cope with the stressors in your life. My training in cognitive behavioral therapy techniques (CBT) will help you identify problems, find solutions, and measure your growth. Finally, will collaborate on a treatment plan that will be a road map for living your life the way you have dreamed.
You Deserve to Live a Full and Meaningful Life
I want to join you on your journey of growth, change, and self-discovery. I hope you will allow me to help you create the narrative that you want for your life so that you can thrive again. Click here if you would like to find out more about getting started with therapy with Liz Witmer.
